YORKTOWN - Douglas (Doug) Lee Honeycutt died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 10, 2023. He was born in Newport News, VA, on December 31, 1952 to Helen and John Honeycutt. Through his working years, Doug was a Real Estate appraiser and very much enjoyed his vocation. Doug's passion throughout his life was his love and devotion for animals; most especially, his constant companion, Showy. He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed promoting his daughter's academic growth and participating in her athletic and social activities. Doug was preceded in death by his father, John B. Honeycutt, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, daughter, Kylesheen, mother, Helen Helton Honeycutt, brothers David (Martha) and Donald, and four nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 3:30 - 5 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton, with a funeral service following at 5 PM.
