Douglas "Jerome" Herring, a kind-hearted, compassionate, generous, hilarious, selfless, supportive, devoted, and faithful man, born on February 2, 1953, passed away on May 30, 2023. Jerome, as he preferred to be called, is survived by his loving wife, Lori Herring; their children, Michelle Argudo, DJ Herring, Keeley Chrisman, Jerrold Herring, Kara Cosme and Zabian Herring.
Jerome was an active attendee at Trinity Fellowship and a dedicated volunteer at Blood N Fire Ministry of Atlanta, a service organization focused on helping the homeless. His favorite local spots were anywhere his family gathered, and he cherished time with loved ones, often joking around, watching TV, and going to the movies together.
His favorite foods included Wild West Shrimp and Pork Chops with rice and gravy, and his favorite drink was a Long Island Ice Tea. A fan of 70's and 80's R&B music, he also enjoyed watching TV shows like NCIS and FBI. Douglas was an Atlanta Falcons supporter and had a fondness for the color purple.
Throughout his life, Jerome embodied a spirit of respect for others, treating everyone with kindness, compassion, and understanding. He believed in seeking God and serving others, recognizing that life is bigger than oneself, and that the truest fulfillment and joy come from dedicating time and energy to helping those in need.
Jerome leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity, setting an example for others to follow. His acts of charity and selflessness have left lasting impacts on the community, and his unwavering love and care for everyone he served highlight his servant's heart.
