My deepest condolence to Carmen and families. He will be missed. When he tells stories it will mixture of being serious, hilarious , jokes and great sense of humor. I already missed a lot of days with you at Feng Ling cuisines during our Nationwide years! You will be in my prayers!

Doug was truly a great friend and person. He reminded me of my father who could start a story that seemed to be ever serious, and then he would come up with the most convoluted endings or one-liners. With Doug, you just never new if his contributions to a conversation would be serious or not. I am really going to miss him. My condolences to Carmen and the rest of the family.

Doug was one of a kind. He could move and relate to people from all walks in life, from the nerdy and quirky (me) to the most polished (doctors, attorney's, etc.) and all in between. His humor was next level and ranged from G rated (sometimes) to 'a few levels higher' than that. If he had not gone into insurance I suspect Doug would've done well as a modern day Mark Twain or Will Rogers, perhaps writing for Texas Monthly here and there. To know Doug, and to be in his presence, was to know that you were 'in' on a big secret, that Doug lived for the here and now and could make each moment fun, insightful and rewarding. For so many in his circle Doug was the consummate character actor in this play called Life. I knew Doug for 35 years; his passing is our loss but Heaven's gain. He will be missed but his legacy and memories speak so very well on his behalf.

I’ve been heartbroken about Doug’s passing since I heard the news. I grew up with him in Marshall - our parents were great friends. We moved out of town my senior year and never saw him again … until this past October when he was at our 40th high school reunion! It was so great catching up with him for hours and he was one of the bright spots of the reunion! I’m so glad I had that time with him. We just laughed like we had never lost any time. My condolences to his parents, Carmen, Christi and Troy and the rest of the clan. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace my sweet friend Doug ! ❤️
