Dorothy's obituary

Dorothy Mae Winters Reavis, 91, of Hamptonville passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care in Yadkinville. Born in Yadkin County on May 6th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Stella L Winters and Carl P Winters. Ms. Reavis worked at many places from Boxwood Motel to Blackwelders sewing. Dorothy had a green thumb, she loved to spend her time in her garden, she could grow anything. You could catch her in her free time crocheting and canning her famous chow-chow or sauerkraut. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Son, James Gray Winters "Whitey"; daughter, Shelia Winters Smith; sisters, Bettie Lou Winters and Eloise Sizemore; brothers, Dwight Winters, Earnest Winters, Howard Winters, Carl Wilbert Winters. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Clifton Reavis "Chris" of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Graham Winters, Myra Winters, Haley Shue (Weston), Kristen Reavis, Hayden Reavis; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothys body has been donated to the 1st year medical students at Wake Forest University to help further their education and finding cures. In lieu of flowers or donations in forms of snacks/drinks for other familys that may be losing a loved one too be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 243 N Lee Ave, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Spencer Funeral Home of Mount Airy is serving the Reavis Family in transportation services.
