Dorothy Young MacDonald Gazlay Neibling, 92, of Sturgis, Michigan, left us on Wednesday, December 28,peacefully at home. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Paul MacDonald, Frank Gazlay, her daughter, Dorothy “Dee” Ashbaugh, and her granddaughter Kari Ann Kauffman. Dorothy is survived by 6 of her children, David MacDonald, Michael “Mike” MacDonald, Joeseph “Joe” MacDonald, Lois MacDonald, Thomas “Tom” MacDonald, and Susan MacDonald. She is also survived by dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy loved to quilt, travel, and update her family and friends on her daily life via newsletters. Although she couldn’t always stop for a visit, she always made sure to let her children know when she was around and kept them in mind. Dorothy’s grandchildren will fondly remember gifts of colorful pressed leaves, Christmas socks, and Christmas vests arriving in the mail every year. Dorothy will be remembered fondly by her family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 4th at Hepton Union Cemetery.
