Dorothy was a cousin two years my senior and I spent many happy times with her when she lived in the UK. This obituary brought back so many memories. My daughter and Tamily were born within a few days of each other. My condolences to Tamily and family. Losing a mum is hard no matter how long they live.
I so enjoyed the glimpse of Dot’s life.  It’s clear that the struggles in her life made her stronger and more determined -with her eyes open for more opportunities to learn and do. What a powerful force! Thank you for sharing her story. Sending love and condolences.
I knew Dorothy many moons ago, through a friendship with Tamily in our elementary/junior high years. She always had such great spark and wit! I had no idea about her upbringing, what incredible resilience, resulting in a life well lived. I know this kind of farewell is always difficult, no matter the circumstance. Thinking of you, Tamily and family - and hope your memories with your Mom bring you some peace. Much love, Jana (Battin) Claxton
