Dorothy Dolores Rossi, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dorothy’s warmth, strength, and unmistakable spirit shaped every chapter of her life. She married William Rossi, Jr. on July 14, 1962, beginning a loving partnership centered on faith, family, and devotion that lasted more than six decades.
Together, Dorothy and William raised their five children—Michael, Stephen, Jeffrey, Cynthia, and Matthew—and later delighted in the lives of their eight grandchildren. Family was Dorothy’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She created a home filled with love, humor, loyalty, and togetherness.
Dorothy spent most of her life in Springfield, Virginia, where she raised her family and built deep connections in her community. She had an infectious laugh, a wonderful sense of humor, and a rare gift for gathering people—making everyone around her feel welcomed, included, and loved.
Her deep Catholic faith guided a life of generosity, volunteerism, and service to others. She also found joy in reading, writing, and above all, nurturing the family and friendships that meant so much to her.
Dorothy will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and the tremendous love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
