Dorothy's obituary

Dorothy Pearce

In Loving Memory 1933-2024

Salt Lake City, Utah–

Dorothy Mae Pearce died peacefully in her sleep on November 28, 2024, at the age of 91.

Dorothy was born to Arthur and Laura Lind on May 4, 1933, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She grew up there and fell in love with her husband of 68 years, Robert Stevens Pearce, when they were just fifteen. They married on August 9, 1953, and were inseparable until Bob’s passing in 2022. Their love story was truly beautiful.

Dorothy's first son, David, was born the same year she graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in Education. After graduation, they moved to Cheyenne, where Steven and Kathlynn were born. In 1960, they moved to Casper, Wyoming, and then settled in Utah in 1964.

Dorothy taught for many years at Holladay Preschool, touching the lives of many children. Later in life, she returned to school and earned a degree in Special Education. She worked with special needs children for many years at Jordan Valley School.

She lived an amazing life filled with family and friends. Dorothy regularly volunteered with Christ United Methodist Church, Stephen Ministries, and Crossroads Urban Center.

Dorothy is survived by her three children and their families: Dave (Laurie), Steve (Larene), and Kathy Lambert (John); six grandchildren: Ann Lambert (Zach), Cody Pearce (Stacie), Nicole Cathey (Ryan), Jennifer Pearce-Morris (Dave), Serena Robertson (Jim), Michael Morris-Pearce (Meenakshi); nine great-grandchildren: Liam, Norea, Sophia, Everett, Chloe, Jaxson, Pearl, Brooks, and Aarushi; and a niece, Marty Lordier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ United Methodist Church or Crossroads Urban Center.
