Dee's obituary

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Dorothy Deane Metrock (Dee), loving mother of six children and four grandchildren, passed away at the age of 82. Dee was born on March 18, 1939, to Lionel (Tink) and Marjorie (Molly) Darrow. She had two brothers, Paul and Bill Darrow (both residing in Wyoming). Growing up in North Jersey, she was married and had her children there. In 1973, the family moved to Colorado. Throughout her life, Dee was a devout Christian and active member of her church. She had an infectious smile and loved to sing both at home and in church choir… there was hardly a time when she wasn’t either singing or humming and did it with great joy. Dee was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, always making blankets for friends and family. She had a heart for adventure and loved to travel and experience new places, food and culture. Dee was a great care provider not only to her family, she often volunteered helping those in need, offering meals and other assistance, and also taking in adults and children needing care while their families were gone during the day. Most recently after relocating to the Charleston SC area, her best times were spent cooking meals for her friends to enjoy, bringing them together to socialize and share laughs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Molly and Tink, husbands John Metrock and Calvin Waldron, son Randy, and dear friend Max. She is survived by children Larry Waldron, Cris Waldron, Susan Bradley (Tim), Tim Waldron (Thim), and Noel Shafer (Kent), and her grandchildren Eric Waldron, Macy Belle Bradley-Vaughan (Jesse), Kendall Shafer-Farmer (Croix), and Quinton Shafer.
