Dorothy's obituary

Dorothy Esther McReynolds, 92, of Fenton, Missouri passed peacefully on Monday June 28, 2021 surrounded by family. Dorothy was born on December 6, 1928 in Webster Groves, Missouri, the only daughter of Arthur and Blanche DeSalme. Dorothy was the sister of Arthur Frederick DeSalme, Gene Edward DeSalme, and James Daniel DeSalme. Dorothy married William McReynolds on June 29, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to which three sons were born: William Arthur McReynolds, James Edward McReynolds, and Richard Ivan McReynolds. Dorothy graduated from Eureka High School in 1947. Dorothy and William started a weekly newspaper called the St. Louis and Jefferson County News, where they worked as co-editors and publishers of this weekly newspaper for over 40 years. Dorothy liked to cook for the kids and their friends and spend time with family and friends (including her 15 cats). Her favorite pastime was eating sweets, as well as loving on her grandkids. Dorothy was known and will be remembered as a beloved and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Dorothy is predeceased in death by her parents, Arthur and Blanche DeSalme, her husband William McReynolds, her brothers Arthur DeSalme, Gene DeSalme, and James DeSalme, and her son James McReynolds. Dorothy is survived by son Richard (Kathleen) McReynolds, grandchildren Rickie McReynolds, Ally (Isaac) McReynolds-Gardner, and Joseph “Mack” (to be engaged to Samantha Hawkins) McReynolds, son William McReynolds, Arthur Wallach, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
