It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Marie Shorter, who left us on April 6th, 2023, at the age of 80. Dorothy was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, and her loss will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Dorothy was born on May 24th, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, to the late James and Elizabeth Smith. She grew up in Denver and attended high school at East High School. After high school, Dorothy went on to attend the University of Colorado, where she earned a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse for many years, touching the lives of countless patients with her compassion and care.

Dorothy was a devoted mother to her two sons, Anthony Shorter and William Shorter. She was immensely proud of their accomplishments and always made time to support them in their endeavors. Dorothy was also a cherished grandmother to four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Dorothy was known for her infectious laugh, quick wit, and kind heart. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her presence will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Sunday, April 15th, 2023, at 7 pm at Sloane Lake. The celebration of life is open to all family and friends of Dorothy.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Anthony Shorter and William Shorter, as well as her four grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, Dorothy Marie Shorter. Your memory will live on forever in our hearts.
