Dorothy Jean Mapalo Born 1/6/1928 and went to see the lord 9/13/18 Dorothy was born in her grandparents’ home in Central City Iowa Jan 6 th 1928 Dorothy Was raised in Iowa and graduated from Marion High school in 1947 and attended First united Methodist church in. Marion. She married Lee Simpson, 1950 Where they had 3 children. Brenda Johnson, Linda Blum, Craig Simpson. Dorothy’s first job was in Sedar Rapids Iowa United Fire and Causality Insurance Secy. Dorothy worked 25 years in insurance and she took much pride in it. Dorothy moved to California in 1965 where she continued to raise her young children. Dorothy survived Brother; Jerald Kelso Barstow Ca, Shirley Shireman Marion Iowa, and Stanley Kelso Ponder texas, 6 Grandkids, Brent Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Matt Johnson, Kimberlee Bailey, Christopher Gauchat (her special boy) Brittany Weisweaver (sweet pea) great grand kids Brooke Bailey Christina Gauchat Leyann Gauchat, Kailani Bailey, Malia Bailey, - Kaylee Johnson, Logan Johnson, Zander Johnson, Summer Johnson.
Dorothy loved to cook and was a great cook, she loved holidays and family gatherings around the holidays Especially Christmas. Dorothy would decorate her home for every holiday that was approaching. Dorothy had a great sense of humor. She Liked playing Cards and board games, she was in a bowling league and attended church every Sunday. She was a sharp dresser, Her makeup and hair always Perfect. She will truly be missed. The lord has received another beautiful soul. She is now free walking with her daughter Linda Blum and other family in Heaven. Rest in peace Dorothy jean. ( D.O.T)
