Dot and Jim spent 26 short years together . Living life to it's fullest , up until Jim's death in 2018.

They went on at least 18 cruises . Also  lived as snowbirds, for many years after retiring , in Auburndale , Florida , near a golf course. They  always came home to Michigan in the Spring.

It was decided mutually that they moved permanently year round , back home to Michigan in 2013.

They took numerous trips together. Enjoyed life , spending time , with family and friends.
Mom and Jim enjoyed going out for a meal often. They spent many a Saturday Night out to dinner , then relaxing for a good game of Dominoes at Sister  , Carol Reilly and Brother in law ,  Mike Reilly's home , also in attendance   Brother Dave Thomas and Sister in law , Penny Thomas as well as other family members  . It became a ritual.

Mom(Dot)was a smart business woman. Owner of 3 Motels in later years. Early on it was Party Stores, and  Pizzeria's ,  she shared with her first husband Bill Smith ,  father of the 3 children .

Mom worked part time for years as a young woman at A&P Grocery Stores ,while she raised her 3 children , along with the many businesses she owned and operated.

Dot moved on, married the love of her life James Kramer on September 26 , 1992 . They lived in Clinton Township MI in the beginning of their marriage  , moving on to    Davisburg Mi . Living part time of year in Auburndale Florida from 1995 - 2013 .  Auburn Hills Mi from 2004-2017 on Arbor Dr. Then 2017 thru 2021 on Hillsdale Dr. In Auburn Hills , Mi.

Mom did not like flying , Her second husband Jim,   was a pilot. He built and owned a small plane,  he called Navion. Through Jim's love, as well as being by her side. He helped her get through , or "let's say tolerate ", boarding a plane.  They took many a trip together. This would include the one Trip   Jim , Mom (Mom's sister) Aunt Carol Reilly and Uncle Mike Reilly. They flew out to Salinas California in 2001 to visit former sister-in-law Lucille Day ( her first husband Bill Smith's sister ) They remained close, even after Mom's remarriage.

Just so happened the trip in 2001 , coincided with 9/11 . They were all grounded ,until getting the all clear. (Not a bad place to have an unexpected delay ) in return home trip back to Michigan.
Salinas is breathtaking.

I remember many a visit, as well as living there a few different
Times . Mom's first husband, my Dad :  Bill Jay Smith was born and raised in Salinas.

Mom worked hard her entire life. She also had the opportunity to travel various places .Throughout the country , as well as the 18 cruises with Jim, some of the time
Mom's brother and sister's would join them on the cruise's.
This took place in either the Caribbean , as well as Alaska.

Jim loved Mom to pieces , and gave her a , "Wonderful Life. "
They are now reunited , wrapped in Gods Arms , Surrounded by Angel's and back together with family and friends , that went before them.
You can never replace your Mom. I will Miss and Love you forever Mom , my Angel.
Until we meet again Mom .
Love your first born
Sheryl
