Remembering my funny, kind, thoughtful cousin. What laughs we had. The memories will live on.

So very sorry to learn of Dorothy’s passing. We worked together at FDA for many happy ears and I cherish the memories. She was a powerful force at FDA and loved all her students. I learned so much from her and often find myself remembering our adventures together outside of school. She brought light and love into the world. Job well done Dorothy. You have made us all a little better. Rest In Peace my friend.

Dot, my Mom, and I were in Atlantic City (as usual😊). We stayed overnight at the Sands Hotel. We woke up the next morning prepared to check out, when Dot said, the towels in the bathroom are fabulous, thick, absorbent, and a beautiful shade of pink. You know, the kind of towels that would cost an arm, a leg, and your first born child. Dot looks at me and says we should take the towels, you have the largest bag. So I put the towels in my bag. As we crossed the front desk in the lobby, the handle on my bag broke and out spilled the towels, I looked to Dot for help and she was gone, nowhere to be found. Luckily I wasn’t arrested. When I caught up with Dot she was laughing so hard I had to laugh too. Dot had a knack for always making me laugh. I think I was the Ethel to her Lucy.

Dorothy's personality was lively and full of light. I am glad we were able to meet and that she was able to share her light with my grandfather. We spoke many times about what I would become as I was in college when we were introduced. She was always a listening ear and an encouraging voice. So Dorothy, you know I became an Engineer but I wanted to share with you that I married my sweetheart (I know you witnessed from Heaven). I am grateful for the quality she added to my grandfather's life and I hope she felt joy with his part in her life. It is my opinion that God calls his best home too soon and Dorothy was. Her spirit lives on through all the lives she touched and the memories we hold dear of her. I close with my love and kindest thoughts.

I’m so sorry for your loss Deatra. I just read about your mom’s amazing life. It sounds like she was the wind beneath so many people’s wings, in addition to your family. My condolences to your extended family.
