Dorothy Judy (Manahan) Gutierrez, age 51, rose to heaven on September 4, 2024. Dorothy was born in Manila, Philippines, raised in Quezon City, and after 9 years, moved to Northern California. There, she met life-long friends, studied hard to build up her engineering career in technology, and created her beloved family whom she cherished and adored.

Dorothy’s greatest happiness was the life she created with her loving husband, Manny. Their love and partnership was the kind of love many long to find. They were blessed with three handsome sons; Jonathan, Jeremy, and Jalen. Dorothy was always their number one fan in everything they did, from sports to school, supporting all the hobbies they selected. Dorothy grew up an only child and cherished every moment with family and bonding time with her mom, Lucille. She loved taking care of her family, 3 dogs, and friends in every way possible. She cherished her late Papa, Perfecto Manahan, and took care of him until his dying days.

Dorothy’s kindness and generosity lifted and inspired the lives of so many. She loved to dance and cook at home for her family, planned special family vacations where they would watch sunsets together, hosted parties to bring relatives together, and generously made every holiday and birthday extra special. She created balloon art and always brought over a home cooked dish and cookies to share at every event she attended.

Her time on earth fell short, however, her lasting love and generosity lives through us all. We give thanks to God for the time we had with her and for all the joy she brought to our lives.

Dorothy always made it a point to lend a helping hand and even after her death, she continues to help families as she elected to donate her major organs to help those in critical need.

In addition to her beloveds, her husband, Emmanuel Gutierrez, children Jonathan Gutierrez, Jeremy Gutierrez, and Jalen Gutierrez, and her mother, Lucila Ubaldo, Dorothy is survived by her aunt, Adele Confiado, her cousins Butch Confiado, Kay Confiado, and Liza (Confiado) Peregoy, her mother-in-law, Zenaida (Ordona) Gutierrez, and father-in-law, Floro Gutierrez; her siblings-by-marriage, Victoria (Gutierrez) Brazil and Kelly Jon Brazil, her nieces Bianca and Valentina; and many other relatives she carried in her heart. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Perfecto Manahan, their sweet dog, Calvin, and other family friends awaiting her in heaven.

To our dearest Dorothy, we will see you in every beautiful sunset, we will cherish every holiday in honor of your memory, and will hold you dearly in the depths of all our hearts forever.
