Dorothy's obituary

Dorothy "Dottie" Czyzun, beloved daughter, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023 at the age of 91. Dottie was born on December 1, 1931 to Anna and Stanley Czyzun in Fairfield, CT. From a young age, she displayed a nurturing and caring nature, always looking out for her loved ones. She worked tirelessly for 35 years as an office administrator, dedicating herself to her job with utmost dedication and professionalism. However, her true passion in life was caring for her beloved mother, Anna. Dottie selflessly retired to be her mother's primary caregiver, ensuring her comfort and happiness in her final years.

Beyond her dedication to her family, Dottie was actively involved in her community. She found joy and fulfillment in participating in various activities at the local senior center, including teaching substitute yoga classes when the regular teachers were unavailable. Dottie's generosity extended far beyond the senior center as she volunteered at the local senior housing center, brightening the lives of its residents. Additionally, she delighted in reading to the children at the parish elementary school and devoted many hours to helping out at her church's events.

Dottie's kindness and warmth were felt intimately by her neighbors on Jennings Road. They welcomed her into their lives with open arms and valued her as a cherished friend. Whether it was participating in holiday celebrations, attending their children's school events, or sharing in the excitement of Halloween trick-or-treating, Dottie was an adored presence in their lives.

One of Dottie's greatest joys was her role as Aunt Dorothy. To her niece, Marcia Zampedri (Peter Zampedri), and nephews, Emery Nemecski (Sandy Nemecski), and John "Jack" Nemecski (Debbie), she was a source of unconditional love and unwavering support. Dottie doted on her great nephews, Peter Zampedri and David Zampedri, as well as Christina Zampedri, Jessica Zampedri, Nicholas Zampedri, JR Dorenbosch, and Leo Dorenbosch. She crafted countless memories with them, hosting tea parties, capturing cherished moments through her camera lens, and forever imprinting her love on their hearts.

Aunt Dorothy's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle nature, loving spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she cared for left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her legacy will be carried on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.

In honor of Dottie's memory and per her wishes a graveside service will be held at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield, CT. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many.

Rest in peace, beloved Dottie. Your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
