Dorma's obituary
Dorma Damiana Salinas-Morales, age 49, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Joliet, IL. Dorma was born on May 15, 1976, in Chicago, IL. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rodolfo and Dora Salinas. Dorma grew up in Chicago, where she spent her formative years and developed her deep love for music, particularly house music from B96 radio. As the only girl among her siblings, she became known for her strong independence, intelligence, and vibrant personality.
Dorma was a proud graduate of Lane Tech High School and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Wright College. She built a successful career as the International Logistics Marketing Manager with Glanbia, the parent company of Optimum Nutrition. A dedicated and passionate professional, Dorma loved her work and embraced the opportunity to travel to many countries, gaining experiences and making connections around the world.
Known for her humor, love, and wisdom, Dorma had a gift for lighting up any room she entered. She was deeply caring, always putting others before herself, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Whether through dance, laughter, or heartfelt conversations, Dorma made those around her feel seen and loved.
Dorma is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Morales; her loving children, Victor Manuel (Maddison) Morales and Damiana Yazmin (Adrian Ruacho) Morales; her cherished grandson, Ezra Ruacho; her brothers, Rudy (Diana) Salinas, Jose Juan (America) Salinas, and Moises Salinas; her mother and father in-law, Caroline Ramos and Lawrence Morales; her aunt, Gloria Velasquez; and numerous nephews, cousins, and extended family who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo and Dora Salinas. Though gone too soon, Dorma's legacy will live on through the memories she created with those she held dear. Her spirit, kindness, and joy will be remembered and cherished forever.
Visitation for Dorma Damiana Salinas-Morales will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
