I stumbled upon this today. I remember the news reports of  Rex passing. I didn’t know Doris had passed before him. I cared for Jack before he passed. He is “the one” who will always be in my heart. He taught me so much. You are correct, Doris always looked after Jack. I have fond memories of all of them, but especially Jack who could recite the menu to me every single day!  And he loved the newspaper daily too.
