Mum

A mother gave birth to us/me but you were always mummy to me/us.

You always put me/us first before anyone or anything.

You loved us all equally and I made it so hard for you.

But through it all you quietly, steadfastly and prayerfully loved and cared for us.

Your love was not an over the top, exuberant huggy or mushy. It was a quiet, subtle, kind and forgiving love.

You gave us each up to the Lord and let us make our way to Him

Our mistakes, some huge, some small but we always knew your love was there

You always did what you were supposed to do as a mum without complaint

One of your biggest blessings was her ‘oops’ baby - she stood by you daily until the end of your days along with your eldest who was always there for you especially through those scary years

Although your 2 middle ones were a handful, we were never not loved. You would just shake your head and laugh

You served us all, Ruth and your kids and grandkids with constant love until the end of your days here on earth.

We trust you knew how deeply you were loved and cherished, how proud we were of you and so thankful that you were our mum. Your life’s ambition wasn’t necessarily to have kids but you shone at being a mum. Never really shouted at us just those dreaded silent treatments lol.

We miss you every second, minute, hour or the day. We are so thankful for you, our joy and glue of the family-you bound us together with love.  We are happy you’re with Jesus and family but miss you terribly. Heaven seems so far away and we look forward to that day where we’ll be reunited

Your daughter

Brenda
