Personal note from Kristen Gregory (Granddaughter)

Doris Kelley HAS FINALLY MADE IT TO HEAVEN 🪽

94 Years! 94!!! Nine whole decades of living. Can you imagine? Think of all the things she lived through. So many life-changing events. She was born during the great depression, as a child she lived through prohibition, the holocaust, pearl harbor, and the Vietnam War. She saw the first man in space, the enactment of civil rights, MLK, Rosa Parks, and 15 different president's get elected! Y2K, oklahoma city bombing, columbine, 9/11..its just incredible and crazy to think about how someone can live to see so many historical events.

Because of her, my entire family exists. Without her there'd be no me, or my mom, my aunt, cousins, or siblings. She also had 15 great grandbabies! Grandma never swore. In all my 40 years of knowing her, I think I only heard the word damn it come from her mouth once. She was such a kind soul and a valuable asset in life to any anyone who knew her. So intelligent too. She never missed an episode of any of her favorite television shows, she would read entire books within days, and she had so many wonderful friends she knew and loved throughout the years.

Grams legacy, her laughter, her one liners, her funny sayings and old fashioned words will never be forgotten. My family will have so many stories to tell of her for so many years to come. I see parts of her in myself every day. My strength, resilience and independence all come from her. I'm so proud and honored to have known her.

She died peacefully, in her home with her daughter by her side just like she wanted.

Grandma didn't want a service, just to be cremated. She was a donor for the gift of life, so her skin was donated to help people in need which she would've been greatful and happy to give.

In leu of gifts or flowers, please plant a tree or flower in Grams honor. She loved plants and flowers so much as we all know.

Thank you all for the prayers, well wishes, condolences, etc.

WE LOVE YOU GRAM!!
WE WILL MISS YOU ALWAYS!
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

REST IN HEAVEN (and kiss all of our past dogs and cats please ❤️)
