We were in the second grade and we had cherries jubilee for hot lunch that day. Doris really really liked cherries jubilee. I don’t know how many servings she had but some of the kids didn’t like it and were giving her theirs to eat. We hadn’t been back in the classroom long before she got sick. All over the floor. Cherries jubilee everywhere. It’s been so long since that day but I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.

Doris was a good friend. I’ve thought of her often over the years. Her birthday was 2 days before mine and I planned to wish her happy birthday when I found out she had passed. I’m glad she had a wonderful family and great friends. I will miss her.

One of Doris' favorite things was music.  There were times that Lisa, Doris and I spent hours together on the phone sharing our favorite songs.  I want to share one of Doris' favorites.  Love you Sis - Lori

Doris, you will be forever missed. Doris was a wonderful and kind person. My sincere condolences to family.
Know that my thoughts are with you and your family at this sorrowful time. Doris was an amazing woman,  she had so many stories to share with us. Someone so special can never be forgotten, may her soul rest in peace.

My heart goes out to you all, family and friends of Doris, but more importantly I’m praying for God to comfort you. May you be strengthened in your spirit by His, May your memories be sweet and bring a smile to you.

Doris was my first sister-in-law and remained a friend as we reconnected after years. She could light up a room and did it well.

Love to you.
