Always fun to be around and trying to help others - very sad and shocked by this news

Doris has been my strongest lifeline to grandpa since grandma Alice died. When he moved to Florida, it was Doris who helped coordinate the family reunion and trips out there to see him. I saw her and grandpa in June this year, and one of the last days that I was there, I remember coming into the kitchen and seeing her fussing over and staring sadly down into a box.
It was an injured rabbit that she had found in the backyard. I remember she was petting it and weeping as if it was a treasured pet, and not a stray she had just found moments earlier.
But that was the kind of sweet and gentle soul that she was. That’s how she regarded everyone and every life. I will always remember her kindness and gentleness and be forever indebted to her for her hospitality anytime I wanted to see or talk to grandpa.
You were a treasured soul, Doris.
I will never forget you.

This was so shocking and devastating to hear about. I still can’t believe she’s gone. I am praying so hard for the family. Please let me know if the family needs anything.

As a young child I always had a chocolate bunny for Easter. One Easter my mom was unable to get to Fairbanks to get one and my dad was gone. Doris, Kris and my mom stayed up late and made me a fudge Easter bunny. Thank you Doris for helping keep a child’s innocence longer. You will be missed. My love and thoughts are with you all.

I am saddened to hear of Doris’ passing. In my first few years of life, we lived in the same household. I will remember her as someone who cared for me, took me places, and certainly helped with my early development. I only saw Doris a couple dozen times since those days, but she was always very pleasant to be around. The world could use more people like her as this is truly a terrible loss.

Eternal Rest Grant unto her Oh Lord,
Let your perpetual light shine upon her,
May her sould and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the Mercy of Christ
Rest in Peace.
My love and hugs are with you all this day, and in the future if you need me!
