Doris's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Doris "Dotty, Dot" Foglesong on February 18, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1946 and lived a fulfilling life.
Doris was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind her children , Eva and Mitch Aills, Eugene and Lisa Gehring, Keith and Rachael Gehring, Jamie and Jimbo Wallace, Karen and Gary Byrd, Nessa England, Gena Bull. She is also survived by her brothers, Claude (Todd) Arnold, married to Lavell, and Ernest (Buddy) Arnold, married to Verna, as well as her sisters, Patsy Presler and Margaret Nettles.
She was predeceased by her spouse Donald Foglesong, Jerry Gehring, and her father, Claude (Red) Arnold, Frances Doris Arnold. Known for her love of Jesus, was a dedicated attendee at New York Baptist LaRue, Texas.
Doris had a real zest for life, and her passions were clear to all who knew her. She loved cooking, favorite food, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and she was known to enjoy Keystone beer, water, and coffee. Her favorite book was The Bible and she often listened to George Jones. Always ready for a good game, she loved Scrabble, dominoes, and card games. She also loved crocheting and traveling to the mountains. Her favorite local spots were Loggings Restaurant, Pasttime Bar, and Wallace Farm.
Doris had a personality that was of a short, feisty, Jesus-loving, room-lighting, and she was known to give the shirt off her back to help others. She always had a way of making any situation look beautiful. Her greatest lesson was to love Jesus, and some of her proudest accomplishments include raising her five children and earning her Masters degree.
Doris Foglesong was an individual who lived true to herself and always put Jesus first. Her legacy to be remembered is her enduring faith and her love for her brothers, sisters, kids, grand children and great grandchildren that called her Nana .and her friends that called her Dot or Dotty. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service for Doris will be held on March 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm at 11274 Co Rd 4828. We invite those who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her beautiful life. Bring your memory's to share.
