Doris's obituary
She was born July 14, 1944 to Raymond and Dorothy (Marquardt) Lindenberger in Morris, MN. She graduated Morris High School in 1962. Doris attended Morehead State College in Minnesota, and Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. Doris received a degree in Accounting in 1965.
Doris grew up on her parents’ farm in Morris, MN. She loved the farm life and enjoyed participating in 4H with her lambs. Doris moved to Colorado in 1967, followed shortly by her parents. Doris resided in Englewood, Bear Valley, Thornton, and eventually settled in Broomfield, CO for many years. During her years in Broomfield, Doris traveled to Longmont, CO almost every weekend with her daughter, to stay and visit with her parents. Doris eventually moved to Denver, and then Arvada, CO. Doris spent her last couple years at Crossroads Assisted Living in Northglenn, CO.
Doris was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend. Doris loved spending time with her family and friends, eating and playing cards!! Doris even became quite the competitive Bingo player in her last couple years at her assisted living facility and enjoyed playing solitaire and Yahtzee on her phone/tablet. Doris was a sports fan and always rooted for the home teams, especially her Denver Broncos. They could make or break her entire week sometimes. Doris also enjoyed her soap operas, specifically Days of our Lives. which she always worked her daily schedule around. She also enjoyed watching the game show network, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and reruns of Bonanza, and Little House on the Prairie when she could.
Doris was employed in accounting with Golden Cream Donuts, GuadalaHarry’s Restaurants, and then with VICORP Restaurants for over 20 years.
Doris was also a polio survivor. At age 4 Doris was hospitalized for over 6 months with Polio. She had been in an iron lung and was completely paralyzed during some of that time. Eventually she regained her strength and feeling in all but her left arm which her nurses named “Oscar”. Anyone who ever met Doris met Oscar too. Although it was a disability, she never let it slow her down, and lived a full and happy life.
