September 6, 2004 interview of Genelle "Nell" Lester (October 16, 1915 - December 23, 2010) and her niece (my mom) Doris Herring Valentine Dolph (March 12, 1932 to November 12, 2025).

Doris was a lovely role model for me. Her energy, compassion and kindness was always felt by everyone around her. I will miss her smile and positivity very much. She was a real gem.
