Doris Denehy - Howland, born May 23, 1935, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2023. A beloved mother and proud member of her community, her spirit continues to live on in the lives of those she touched.
Doris is mourned by her devoted daughters, Jeannette Miller and Karen Karnes, who reflect the strength and resilience she so beautifully personified. She was predeceased by her two sons, Normand Ayotte and Alan Ayotte, whose memories she held close to her heart. Doris was also preceded in death by her father, John Denehy, and her mother, Mildred Denehy, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
After a long and fulfilling career, Doris stepped into the well-earned tranquility of retirement in 2006. Her dedication to her profession was second only to the devotion she had for her family.
Doris was a vibrant soul who cherished the joy of music. The harmonious tunes of the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) were among her all-time favorites. She was an avid fan of the TV show "Dancing with the Stars", often lost in the rhythm and grace of the performances. Her love for the show was a testament to her appreciation for performing arts.
A faithful follower of The Patriots, Doris's enthusiasm for sports was infectious. Her cheers during game nights were a staple among family traditions. One would always find her wearing her favorite turquoise attire, an endearing sight that remains imprinted in the memories of her loved ones.
Newport, Rhode Island was Doris's beloved vacation spot. She found solace in the serene landscapes and the tranquil rhythm of coastal life. Her spirit was always at ease in Newport, and it was a place she often returned to for comfort and peace.
Doris's life was a tapestry of vibrant threads that painted a beautiful portrait of love, resilience, and compassion. She will continue to live on in our hearts and minds, her story carrying on in the lives she has touched. May her soul rest in peace.
