Doris (Woodruff) Burgess passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in the Memory Care Unit at Eagle Crest North in Onalaska, WI. She was surrounded in love by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Doris was born on April 4, 1920 in Denver, Colorado to Hettie Irene Woods and Fred Farrand Woodruff. She graduated from Milwaukee Downer College in 1943 and was then hired as the Director of Occupational Therapy at the Crippled Children’s Hospital …

Memorial events are private

We are planning to have a family celebration when it is safe to once again travel. Doris' ashes will be spread beneath a huge oak tree on Valiquette property that will be undeveloped in perpetuity owing to a conservation easement with the Mississippi Valley Conservancy.
