Doris's obituary

Doris M. Baker, age 79, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018. From her birth in McGregor, on May 26, 1938 to her death on Sunday she loved and embraced all those around her. She was born in a small town and was the third oldest of nine children. After graduating from high school, she attended medical school in Springfield, Missouri. Following her training, she began her career and served as a nurse for over 30 years as it was her passion. She met Leonard Farris Baker, a young soldier whom she fell in love with and married on 19th May 1955 . It was Doris’s simple ways, heart and smile that welcomed so many to her open arms as all knew her as Mom, Granny or D oh and recently G-G! Left to honor Doris and remember her are five children, Becky, David, Sharon, Laura, and Kevin; nine grandchildren; Micheal, Rochelle, Cherami, Elijah, Shelby, Brandi, Lacci, Gary, and Jesse; eleven great-grandchildren: Lacy, Tyler, Michael, Demi, Camden, Damian, Aleron, Abigail, Avrielle, Darien, and Jenson ; three great-great-grandchildren: Caden, Logan, and Addelyn, a brother, Joe and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and sister;, Gladys, Sharon, Helen, Janice Marie, Patricia, Nancy and Joan. Doris will be remembered as a bright, shining light to the various communities and churches she donated to. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at 12pm at Comanche Springs Cemetery, McGregor, Texas. The family will greet friends after the service at the Coffee Shop café.
