We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved grandmother, Doreen Santaniello (Recko) , passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2025 at the age of 66.

Born on August 16th 1958 in Southington CT, to John And Katherine Recko (Smolinski). Doreen was a devoted sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She brought love, wisdom, and warmth to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Evelyn “Skippy” Lewoc (Recko) of Meriden, Brother in Law Robert Drury, niece Katherine Drury, granddaughters Taylor and Shelby Washburn of Plantsville, Grace Griffin of Thomaston, and Great Grandson Oakley Burrus of Plantsville, as well as her life long best friend Lisa King, and her sons Travis and Zachary- whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her daughters Nicole Lee Santaniello and Kelly Marie Santaniello, her sister Helen “Honey” Drury (Recko) and her Parents John and Katherine.

A private celebration of her life will be held for Family. Donations can be sent to Funny Farm Rescue Ranch of Tennessee, where Doreen and Taylor adopted their beloved dog Harley.

Her memory will forever live in our hearts.
