Doreen's obituary
Doreen Hawthorne, a vibrant, strong, and smart woman, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025. Born on October 21, 1938 to the late Michael J Campbell and Florence Ratcliffe, Doreen spent her life inspiring those around her to stand up for what’s right.
Her illustrious career as a realtor spanned over three decades, during which she took pride in empowering first-time homeowners. Doreen’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love is a shining example for us all, and her passion for dominos, at which she was quite skilled, brought joy to many gatherings.
She was predeceased by her brother, Victor J Campbell, and her sister, Kathleen Campbell. Doreen is survived by her husband of many years, John Hawthorne, and their son, Gary Hawthorne. Other surviving family members include her daughter-in-law, Tanoa Hawthorne, and two grandchildren, Gary Hawthorne Jr. and David Carter. Her grandaughter, Aprill Hawthorne, also survives her.
The loss of Doreen Hawthorne will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of courage and love, reminding us all to stand strong in our beliefs and to always extend kindness and generosity to others.
