Doreen's obituary
Doreen Nola Barry “Norsworthy”, 95, passed away on January 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 7, 1928 to Thomas Norsworthy and Stephanie Irene Swatek, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Doreen raised her 6 children in Simi Valley, CA, where she was named mother of the year in 1967. She worked for years in lawn maintenance and as a dental hygienist. She relocated her family to Tacoma, WA to get out of the city and enjoy the country life. Doreen was the head leader for the local 4-H club called Hoofbeats and Paws for 41 years. She was superintendent of 4-H and the Pierce County Fair and State Fair. Her favorite pastimes were fishing with her family, obedience and showmanship training with her dogs, and camping.
She is survived in life by her four children Jaydeen Nation, Robert Barry, Kathleen McSweeney, and Andrea Barry, her 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece Kathy Barry-Soqui and her nephews Tim Barry and Mike Barry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons Randy and Bruce Barry, and her nephew Kevin Barry.
