Dora “Berthine” Brown 89, of Tucson, AZ, passed peacefully surrounded by family on June 12, 2024, She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth and quick wit.

Berthine was survived by daughters Katherine Dillon, Jackie (Mike) Templeton, Lori (Bobby) Martinez, Tonya Brown. 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Marvell Mathis, brothers Alvin and Wayne, sisters Marian Jo Matthews, Ophelia Dean and Nora Crowley. Her son Richard Dillon and her daughter Debbie Dillon, granddaughter Sherry Dawn Dillon, great granddaughter Julie Belle Leyvas.

We would like to give our gratitude to Dee for the great care given to our precious mother.

As a believer is Jesus Christ, we look forward to seeing her in Heaven. Her favorite bible verse was Psalms 23, the Lord is My Shepherd.

Berthine worked at Hughes Missile / Raytheon Missile Systems for many years and retired in 1996 . She was a dedicated Union Member to the IAMAW Local 933 for over 50 years. She would often say that Union wages gave her the financial independence to provide for her family.
