Background
Our grandfather Donovan suddenly passed on August 24th and has been sadly been at the Riverside county coroner's office since then. They informed me and my bro who he only considered family due to his blood family not being in the picture, that they needed to find next of kin (blood family) they were unable to locate anyone until last week. His only living sibling is signing over donovan to me and my brother Ryan so we can cremate our grandfather and have a proper service for him. He was not our blood but he's been since before me and my brothers were born. He grew up with my mom, they were best friends. He was also my grandmother's companion before her passing. Blood doesn't always make you family. He was our family. Our mother passed in March of this year suddenly also and sadly 5 months later so did Donovan. This year has been devastating for our family. If anyone can please help us, it would be greatly appreciated. It saddens us it took so long for the Riverside county coroner's office to find blood family while our grandfather has been sitting in there. It's heartbreaking. Thinking about it makes me want to cry. 😞
