Donnie Jackson Large, age 69 of Controller Road passed away Friday September 12, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky. Born in Dickenson County, Virginia he was a son of the late Johnny Raymond and Evelyn Large. He was last employed as a carpenter.

"Though he lived a life following his own adventures, he will always be remembered by his hunting and fishing tales, his sharp sense of humor, and singing along with Merle Haggard, knowing one day, they'd have mercy on an old outlaw"

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Large, sister, Susie Greene and three infant brothers, Stevie, Ricky and Darrell.

Survivors include six children, Laura (Hosea) Stiltner, Amy (Brandon) Proulex, Raymond Loyall (Kayla) Large, Jennifer Dooley, Cody Cline and Shane (Rhonda) Branham, eleven grandchildren and one brother, Denton Wells.
