It’s been 3 years since since my beautiful mother passed away. Honestly, there hasn’t been a single day I haven’t thought about her. I miss her so much. For years after her own mother passed away, I remember her saying she would give just about anything to have three more minutes with her mom  again. Well, I can certainly relate.. I wish I could have a few more minutes with her too.

I especially miss our daily phone chats. Mom was a comforter. She had words of wisdom.  She had a lot of old sayings, and clichés..I have to laugh thinking about that. I sometimes find myself repeating some of her old sayings!

Mom’s greatest gift~was to be a great listener!

She may not physically be here to talk to, but I can still hear her!!

Love you mom!! I will forever miss you~best friend!

My last visit with Donna. I went over to sit and help out. As sick as she was, always a smile for me, always a comforting word for whatever was going on in my life. She was always my cheerleader. She constantly told me I was smart and could do anything I wanted. But today we just hung out like sisters sometimes do, I gave her a facial, fixed her hair, she put on some of her makeup. She felt alive again! She felt like a woman again! We talked and laughed. It was an ordinary day but we both felt extraordinary. Only days later she left us. I'm so glad I had that day. I miss her everyday. I believe it shows that every day is extraordinary when you spend it with people you love.
Trip to Alton with Bud!

When I was about 6 years old my next door neighbor Bud was a very big beer can collector. I used to go over his house everyday for lunch and sometimes he would invite me to go to Alton Ill. to a beer can collecting company which had big barrels of peanuts. I loved to go with him because you could eat the peanuts and then throw them on the floor of the shop. Also Bud would take me to Basken Robbins for ice cream. Well anyway, I had to get permission to go by my Mom.. So one day he asked me to go to Alton and I went back home to get permission. My Mom was on the phone in her bedroom talking to one of her friends when I came in and asked her if I could go. She said "YES" but she was saying it to the person on the phone. I thought she responded to me so I left.

Me and Bud went to Alton and I had a great time! We went to Baskin Robins after and ate ice cream too. Boy was that a good time. I loved Bud because he was a nice old man who always had great stories to tell me and he had a Martin house in his back yard for the birds. We spent a lot of time together because he was like a grandpa to me.

After all that fun I came home and walked into the Kitchen of our house. My Mom was sitting there with a police officer and was crying. When she saw me she was overjoyed. She thought she had lost her son. She had no idea that I was out having a great time with our next door neighbor. She got up and gave me a big hug and kissed me on my cheek.. I'll never forget that day! I made a huge mistake by assuming that she knew where I was going but that day I realized how much she loved me.

Now she is in heaven and I know how she felt that day. I miss her so much.

SENDING MY SYMPATHY TO ALL OF DONNA'S FAMILY. WE HAVE NOT BEEN TOGETHER SINCE HER DISCHARGE FROM THE HOSPITAL. MISS HER SO MUCH, HOWEVER, WILL ALSO MISS OUR 3 -4 HOUR CONVERSATIONS. WE TRIED TO SOLVE ALL OF THE WORLD PROBLEMS BUT BY THE END OF THE CONVERSATION WE WOULD JUST AGREE TO TURN IT OVER TO GOD. SHE HAD A VERY INFECTIOUS LAUGH AND I WILL MISS THAT, I TOLD SANDY THAT SHE WAS OUR LUCILLE BALL. GOD BLESS MY SWEET FRIEND.

I’m going to miss grandma. There was never a time where I couldn’t talk to her. She’d always be so happy to hear from me. She always made me feel so special and no matter whatever t grandma always had a story or advice to help me through whatever situation I’ve been dealing with. There’s no doubt she sitting with God right now smiling down at us. Grandma told me she prayed a lot and would always remind me that everything is in HIS hands. Thanks for all of your love and support Grandma. I love you.
