Donna's obituary
Donna S. Miller, of Gary, IN and formerly of Burnham, IL, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years old.
Born on September 30, 1957, in Hammond, IN, Donna was the beloved daughter of Paul and Norma Milam. She was the eldest of three children and together with her siblings grew up in Burnham, IL. Donna was a cherished employee of Ball Glass Company and was with them for many years until her retirement. However, her true passion lay in her family and faith. She was a devoted grandmother who found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Whether they were watching movies, playing games, or simply sharing conversation, Donna cherished every moment spent with them. She was fiercely protective of her grandchildren and was known for her sassy yet loving demeanor.
In addition to her family, Donna's faith played a central role in her life. She was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Highland, IN, where she found family, sang in the choir, went to every vocation bible school and helped wherever she could. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her church family.
Donna is survived by her loving children, Wayne (Tiffany) Miller and Dawne (Nick) Martinez, as well as her adoring grandchildren, Nathen, Noah, Micah, Rylee, Beckhem, and Asher. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, as well as her church family at Bible Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Paul Milam and Pamela "Koo Koo" Miller.
A celebration of Donna's life will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Bible Baptist Church, located at 8720 Orchard Drive, Highland, IN 46322. Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
