It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Glassford, who departed this world on June 27, 2025. Donna was born on July 5, 1955 to Clare and Sergio Venturini in Orinda, CA. In her 69 years of life, she touched countless hearts with her warmth, wit, intelligence, and resiliency.

Donna leaves behind her cherished sons Tyler and Lee Glassford and her loving husband Jim Glassford. And she joins her eldest son Michael, who passed away far too young, in heaven. She loved all of her family greatly, and was an incredible Nonna to Walter and Elsie. Donna was the beloved younger sister to Peter Venturini and is remembered fondly by his wife Jeannie. She was always delighted to be on Auntie duty and go shopping with the girls, Catherine, Laura, and Jean-Marie, and their children Emma, Aiden, Elizabeth, and Veronica.

Donna was an elementary school teacher at Matthew Turner and Mills Elementary for 34 years. She prided herself on the education, love, and care she was able to bring children through the decades. She and her coworkers became life long friends.

Donna loved to cook, travel, and entertain. She was happiest when her house was full of loved ones, smiling, chatting, and eating good food. As such, she was the glue that held the family together and was often conceiving of occasions for the family to get together.

In the midst of our grief, we remember Donna's precious dog, Dawn, and all the loving pets who came before her. The bond they shared was a testament to Donna's nurturing nature and deep love for all creatures.

Donna’s indomitable strength and spirit will be carried on by all who had the opportunity to know her. She truly gave unconditional love to everyone without question and will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life for Donna will be held on July 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Glassford family home: 1080 Melissa Ct. Walnut Creek, CA. This will be an occasion to honor her impactful life and share memories of a woman whose spirit was an inspiration to all.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage those wishing to express their condolences to contribute to the "Bay Area German Shepherd Dog Rescue".
