Donna Lynn Gerek, 69, a lifelong resident of West Islip, NY died November 15, 2023 after a long illness. Donna was a traveling registered nurse who devoted her career to caring for the sick and dying in their homes. When she became too sick to continue her nursing career, she found solace and purpose at her childhood home where she raised bees, chickens, and most importantly, rescued cats in need.

She was predeceased by her parents Douglas and Chloe Gerek and is survived by brothers Douglas Gerek Jr. (Virginia Beach, VA), and Stephen Gerek (Jacksonville, FL), sisters Karen Gerek Devivo (Ft Pierce, FL) and Susan Baum (Bethlehem, PA), and five nieces and nephews.
