Donna's obituary
Donna Darlene (Kind) Anderson, 74, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away on January 11, 2024. She was an amazing Mother, Sister, and friend.
Donna lived all over the United States, but especially enjoyed her years living in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was was very detail oriented, had an artistic sense, was an excellent writer, and had very high standards for herself. These characteristics served her well as a parent and through several careers. She partnered with her beloved second husband, John Anderson, to develop a combat shotgun that was never produced, but was featured in several notable films. For over twenty years, she excelled in public service. She was an employee of the City of Albuquerque and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, with assignments to the National Headquarters in Washington D.C and in the Greensboro N.C field office. She was a recognized expert and leader in the management of the HOME Investment Partnership Program, which helped to provide housing for low-income households.
Donna had many interests. She loved to knit, and enjoyed making sweaters, blankets, and other gifts for family members and close friends. She had a great fondness for classical music. She was also an accomplished artist. She was a watercolor painter, weaver, and an accomplished mosaicist. She enjoyed horseback riding, yoga, hiking, and worldwide travel. Her favorite place to visit was the "Malpais" area west of Albuquerque, New Mexico, an area where she had fond memories with her husband, John. She was a connisseur of fine cuisine and beverages, and was a fantastic "dog mom" to her two King Charles Spaniels, Lance and CJ. Although she was a private person, she greatly enjoyed the companionship of her close friends. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her two Grandsons.
Donna was blessed to have had incredible love and support from her friends in Greensboro through the course of her illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson and her parents, William Norman Kind and Marie Kind. Her close surviving family includes her Son from her first marriage, Chris Hulitt, Sister Norma Roberts, her daughter in law Debi Hulitt, and her grandchildren, Ryan and Cameron Hulitt
Donna will be deeply missed, especially by her family and close friends. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A private gathering to celebrate Donna's life will be held on 21 January at 1400 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
