Donna's obituary

Donna Marie (Carlton) Hartung, Macomb MI

January 28, 1957 – July 10, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Marie Hartung, who departed this life on July 10, 2025, at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with ovarian and pancreatic cancer.

Born on January 28, 1957, to Curtis Carlton and Judith Roussin, Donna dedicated her life to serving and loving her family. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering strength were a guiding light to those who knew her. She was a devoted mother to Amanda (Ryan) Hosko and Ryan Hartung, and a proud grandmother to Addalyn, Brayden, and Meredith, all of whom were her greatest joys.

Donna is survived by her beloved sisters Debbie (John) Pray, Kelly (Bill) Goldenbogen, and Kristie Smith; and her cherished uncle, Wayne (Diane) Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Judith Roussin, stepfather Edward Roussin, father Curtis Carlton, brother Anthony (Tony) Carlton, and brother Michael Carlton, Aunt Sandra Keck and Aunt Kaye Carpenter.

Known for her kind heart and bright spirit, Donna found joy in simple pleasures—talking with people, caring for animals, and spending time with her family. She especially loved her dog, Bebe, whose companionship brought her endless comfort and joy. In her later years, Donna took great pride in her work at Costco, where she loved greeting customers and sharing conversation and kindness with everyone she met.

Donna’s legacy is one of love, service, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney in Shelby Townhip, MI.
