Donna's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Donna Marie Capraro, who left us after a beautifully lived life.
Donna, 65, of Redondo Beach, California, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1960, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and moved with her family to Claremont, California, in 1970. She attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School and St. Lucy’s Priory High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from her cherished UCLA.
After graduating, Donna settled by the beach, where she would spend the rest of her life. She dedicated over 30 years to her career as a data manager at UCLA, a place she held close to her heart. A passionate UCLA sports fan, Donna was a familiar face at football and basketball games. Her love for the Bruins was unwavering—every year, she ran the NCAA Cappy’s Memorial Pool in honor of our father, always picking UCLA to win.
A lifelong adventurer, Donna traveled the world with enthusiasm and joy. Still, nowhere brought her more happiness than Disneyland, which she lovingly called her “happy place.”
Donna was preceded in death by our parents, John and Dolores Capraro. She is survived by her brothers, Paul Capraro of Idaho and John Capraro Jr. of Texas; her sisters-in-law, Judi Capraro and Michele V. Capraro; her nephews, Jake (and Lucia), and Dylan Capraro; and her nieces, Alexandria (and Christian Bell) and Brittany Capraro (and Kai Hoffman), and Katelyn and Kirstin Redner.
She was loved by many and missed by all.
