Background
Donna knew from a very young age that her granddaughter Marcella would go on to do great things.
Since a young age Marcella had displayed a deep interest in graphic arts. Marcella attended Shawsheen technical high school for graphic design and visual communications. It was there were she would turn what was once an interest into developed skills.
She used these skills to compete in design on a state and national level with Skills USA . In her senior year of high school competing in the Skills USA competition she would go on to earn a gold medal by placing first in design on the state level. She would also go on to earn a silver medal, by placing second on the national level.
Donna loved attending Marcella’s graduation, and was so proud of hearing the announcements of all of Marcella’s achievements.
Marcella naturally has continued her studies in graphic design, and is currently enrolled in Massart located in Boston, MA. In the fall of 2021 she should begin her sophomore year.
When Marcella had first moved on campus Donna had asked Marcella for her bank account number so she could deposit a little money in her account here and there. When Marcella refused and said “Aw No Grammy I don’t want your money !” Donna did something she loved to do. She wrote paper checks and sent them in inspirational cards addressed to Marcella at school.
Sadly Donna was not able to share the length of time she had with Marcella with her grandson, Brady. However in Brady’s five years of life, he managed to provide Donna with enough laughs for a lifetime. Donna quickly identified and fell for his charm and charisma. She would repeatedly watch videos of him and was thoroughly entertained by him doing just about anything.
There was no doubt in Donna’s mind with a mother like Mary LaBelle Esq. , Brady will be placed on a path that will consist of a lot of schooling, possibly leading to a lot of student loans. She hoped only for him to find his passion in the future and follow his heart. Wherever that may have lead him she would’ve been there in any way to support him when he needed his Gram.
Donna would often say, “Being a grandmother is so much better than being a mother.” She found a lot of joy in these children and watching them grow. The absence of Donna in their lives is an enormous loss, if only they could’ve had her here for a bit longer.
We as a family will be doing what is necessary to preserve her memory and keep her presence alive. We do believe she will be watching over these children and guiding them through any challenges that they may encounter, and also celebrating with them in spirit all of their future successes.
