With deep sorrow, but unwavering faith in God's promises, we announce the passing of our beloved Donna Mae Acker, a woman of profound faith, exceptional strength, and boundless love. Donna concluded her earthly journey and went to be with the Lord on the July 1, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on the April 30, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, Donna was the cherished daughter of Virgil and Lillian Murrell and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Her vibrant spirit and infectious wit endowed warmth to everyone who crossed her path.
Donna was a faithful member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church, where she served in multiple areas of ministry. She leaves behind a resilient and sturdy legacy, epitomized in her kids and grandkids, who were fortunate to learn from her wisdom and experience. Her wisdom and lessons on forgiveness, grace, mercy, and reliance on God reverberate through the lives of those she influenced, shaping their character and serving as guiding principles.
Donna will be remembered for her exceptional flair for sewing, a skill she generously used in service to unwed mothers, demonstrating her deep-seated compassion. Her love for her children and grandchildren, unwavering faith in Christ, and selfless contributions to others stand testament to her remarkable life.
Her legacy is a beacon of tenacity and selflessness. Donna navigated life's struggles with grace, placing everything in God's hands, caring for her children persistently, loving others unconditionally, and forgiving easily. She mastered the art of living an authentic and meaningful life, embodying an enduring love that resonated in every relationship she fostered.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas (Tom) Murrell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Acker, her daughter Julie Perry and husband Victor, son Brian Harris, and daughter Lisa Ford and husband Stacey, as well as bonus children Jon Acker and wife Jaime, Jason Acker, Janel Rogers and husband Nathan, Joelle Hainley and husband David, Josh Acker and wife Jodi, Joy Franklin and husband Kevin, along with grandchildren Ashley, Richie, Stuart, Madison, Ethan, Megan, Jenna, Jaden, Tiernan, Grayson, Avery, Milo, Allie, Jackson, Dylynn, Olivia, Lydia, Dawson, Carter, Lela, Korbin, Maybree, and Kasen; also great grandchildren Mason, Emma, Sophia, Genevieve, and Lucy.
Beyond her family and friends, Donna's love extended to her dog, Sasha, who was an integral part of her life. Everyone who knew Donna admired her caring spirit and loving presence. She was an extraordinary woman who possessed the ability to touch lives and hearts with her kindness.
The Celebration of Life for Donna Acker will be held on the July 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the North Fort Worth Baptist Church. We invite all those who were touched by Donna's life to share in the celebration of a phenomenal woman whose spirit continues to guide and inspire us.
We find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones and free from pain. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the eternal hope we have in Christ.
