Nuestra amada Donatila Medina Portugal nació un 4 de Noviembre de 1930 en el pueblo andino de Marcabamba, en Ayacucho. Allí vivió alrededor de 10 años, siendo la engreída de su mamá Josefina y su abuelita Águeda. Estando en Lima, su papá Buenaventura la mandó a llamar para que tuviera atención médica que requería su dañado oído.
