Donald's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce that our dear Donald "Donnie" Graham, lost his life long battle with mental illness on June 16, 2025. Born on November 11, 1955, Donnie had a zest for life that was infectious and a personality that brightened the room. He was much loved by all those who knew him and will be sorely missed.Donald was a man of vibrant tastes and passions. Lover of hearty meals, his favorite foods varied from burgers and tacos to his daughter's “world famous” lasagna. He had an eclectic music taste, with a fondness for The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Stevie Nicks. A dedicated viewer of Saturday Night Live and Dukes of Hazzard, Donnie also had a great appreciation for the performing arts, including Oklahoma and Sweeney Todd. Donald was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and a fierce competitor in Dominoes, cribbage, and poker. An outdoor enthusiast, he relished fishing with his daughter, enjoying a beer, and always up for a game of cards. He found joy in running and swimming and loved to unwind at Disneyland, a place he declared as his favorite vacation spot. Described as kind, funny, smart, and sassy, Donald was known for his loyalty and his undying devotion to his family, he always had hot chocolate at the ready and kind ear to listen. His infectious laughter, warmth, kindness, and resilience became his lasting legacy. One of our family’s favorite memories of Donnie was the time he disappeared during a family camping trip, only to return with another family who had been lost on a hike. Donald leaves behind his treasured daughter Laura, who was his beacon of light following the sudden loss of his beloved wife Carolyn three years prior. His teachings on loyalty, prioritizing family, and his lessons on strength and happiness to Laura are the invaluable gifts he left behind. Donald's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and the power of laughter. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts. He will be affectionately remembered and dearly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. Rest in peace, Donnie, we’ll all be waiting to hear your laugh again.
