Donald Vernon Talley, 68, passed away  at his home on January 29, 2023. He was born on May 25, 1954, the son of the late Ellis and Mildred Talley and brother to Janet Clauss and Patricia Talley (Pat) . Don was a gifted athlete playing for Ellet High School. He excelled in running and held city and state track records. He also took to football, swimming and golf. In high school he was a drummer in a band. Notably he was employed at General Tire and later Ohio Edison.

Furthermore, he enjoyed cooking and made many delicious home cooked meals and was known to his family as a proficient chef. A common sight to see him would be relaxing in a yard with classic rock songs playing on a radio and cooking on a grill. Don enjoyed the outdoors taking many hikes in the Summit County Parks with his former wife Linda and son, Steven. They also enjoyed going to zoos, fairs and sport events. With his family they would take trips across Ohio often seeking out unique locations and restaurants to try which they enjoyed.

Don will be remembered for his sense of humor, intriguing stories to share, keen memory for people, places and events, never meeting a stranger, and his kindness, especially to cats of the family, A few among many he loved dearly were Puff, Pookie, Dodger and Molly, Also stray cats that he often cared for. He will be greatly missed, loved and remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Patricia and Janet.

Cremation has taken place.
