Donald Raymond Prater passed away January 22,2019 at a local hospital among family and friends after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Bethseda, Maryland he was the only son of John Henry and Georgia Bowman Prater. Donald worked for Island Creek Coal Company for 30 years, and retired from Logistics in 2013 .
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years,Betty Keen Prater,Lebanon,Va.,Son,David Prater if Hickory,N.C.,Daughter and son-in-law,John and Erica Bartley,Lebanon,Va.,
and 1 granddaughter,Rylee Reynolds of Berra,Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be conducted in Bethseda,Maryland at 2:00pm at Palmlawn Cemetery,January 26,2019,with the Rev. Henry Plumbly officiating. Family and friends serving as pallbearers,Robert A. Plumbly Funeral Home for reception.
