Don's obituary

Donald Lewis Parrott Jr passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer at the age of 70.

Don was born April 21, 1952 in Pasco, WA to Donald Lewis Parrott Sr. and Mary Etta Parrott.

Don attended John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA. He excelled in football. A varsity fullback, Don and his signature “Parrott Power” led the Lancers to a record ‘69 senior season, with Don averaging over 100 yards and 20 carries in multiple games. He graduated in 1970 with Kennedy’s first graduating class.

In 1978, Don graduated from Central Washington University with a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology. He led a successful career as a manager and superintendent for several international shipping companies, including Hapag Lloyd and APL.

Don retired in 2018, and enjoyed spending time relaxing at home with his family and dogs. He loved to read, and was an avid Seattle sports fan. Don was a warm, joyful man and will be remembered for his gentle humor, generosity and quiet strength.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Terri Parrott, daughter Michelle Parrott, son Mark Parrott, brother Ron (Shelly) Parrott, sister Teresa Walker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both his parents, brother Vern and sister Carol.
