Donnie's obituary
Donald Thomas Marin (76) was son of Wilbrod “Pete” Marin and Geneva Michaud Marin. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on the Little Narrows with family by his side. Donnie was a 1966 graduate of Mattanawcook Academy. He then served 6 years in the National Guard. He also graduated form the vocational school in Bangor where he learned the trade of carpentry which he enjoyed and had a natural talent for. He was employed by Lincoln Pulp and Paper for many years. He was predeceased by his parents Pete and Geneva as well as his sister Gloria Hargrave.
Donnie was a devoted husband to his wife Janet for 56 years. He was a wonderfully loving father to his children and their partners Jon Marin and Julie Fite, Ann Miles and Don Hilts, and Jannifer and Randy Barker. He instilled in them his best qualities of paying attention to detail and taking time to do the best you can at any task at hand. He shared his love of cooking and his passion for music. He was a beautiful singer, guitar and piano player. Many nights he would have friends and family sitting around the campfire singing songs well into the summer nights. These are memories that will not be forgotten. His greatest loves, pride and joy were his grandchildren. They will remember him singing lullaby’s to them when they were young, giving them rides on his 4 wheeler, cooking their favorite meals and desserts at family gatherings. They will always cherish the special moments had with him and will hold onto the beautiful handmade quilts he created for them and will wear his flannel shirts that was such a big part of who he was. Grandchildren are as follows, Ashlee Marin, Maryn, Makayla, and Matthew Miles, Lexi, Josie, Zoe Barker and Phylicity Curtis, Daniel, Shawn and Zach Hilts, Kasey and Ty Tobin, and great grandchild Nola Bailey. He is also survived by his siblings Loraine Sweet, Carlene Corro, and Albert Marin as well as many nieces and nephews.
We have peace knowing that he is in heaven sitting in his rocking chair, listening to Jim Reeves music waving to his friends and family as they are going down the dirt roads. We love you forever Daddy…
