Don's obituary
Donald Louis Taylor, age 72, passed away on October 30, 2025 at Advent Health Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Born on November 29, 1952 in Hamilton, Ohio, Don lived a life marked by his dedication to his work, deep faith and unwavering love for his family.
Don devoted over three decades of his professional life at Sohio/BP Oil, where he began by running service stations and then later managing convenience stores. His strong work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. After retiring from the oil industry, Don continued working at Walmart as a department manager for five and a half years before fully retiring.
Faith played a central role in Don's life. In 1992, he accepted Jesus into his life for salvation and became an active member of Community Baptist Church in Franklin, OH. Along side his wife, Wanda, he taught Sunday school to preschool children for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Don will be deeply missed by his wife of thirty five years, Wanda J Taylor; his children, Ashley (David Johnson) Clark, Catherine Taylor, Ali (Kevin) Zaenger, Steven (Sara) Streibick Jr. He was a proud Pappaw to Cassidy, Adler, Elijah Streibick; Payton, Clayton, Brinley Clark; Andrew Taylor; Lily, Violet, Emmy and Iris Zaenger. He also shared in the joyful anticipation of Ashley and David's expectant child due in April of 2026--a blessing he was excited to welcome into this world.
He is also mourned by his brothers, Clarence (Anita) Taylor, Jerrell (Kim) Taylor and Darrell Taylor, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Willie B. and Eunice C. (King) Taylor and five brothers; Thomas, Paul, Earl, William and Ronald Taylor .
Don enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed making then laugh and spreading joy especially to children by always bringing candy to them. Even during his last hospital stay giving them suckers and love as they left. His kindness touched many lives--he was truly cherished by all who knew him.
May the memory of Donald Louis "Don" Taylor bring comfort to those who mourn him and inspiration to all who were blessed to share his journey.
There will be a celebration of life for Don sometime in the early summer in Ohio. I will update this information when details get made.
